I.O.U.S.A. is a movie about our (America’s) national debt, and how it’s way out of control. I’m not usually that interested in independent films, but I’ll probably rent this one on Netflix when it comes out. After all, I don’t want to slow down my debt repayment progress by spending $5-$10 on a movie about overspending!
Either way it looks interesting, and if you’ve already seen the new Batman movie this might be worth a look.

The movie was good. Brought up some of the basic ideas. However failed to address many other issues with debt. The “Live” Q&A afterwards was also interesting. However became very focused on Social Security.

Just like parents should not set a bad example for their kids. The USA government is setting a bad example for their citizens.

The reason why US debt is a horrifying thing is that it is not held by US banks. China owns a great portion of the states. When you consider the escalation of debt due to the war I predict some very lean years ahead.

I know everyone wants to lower the national debt. But we willing to pay for the drop in standard of living that may cause?
